Entry #4 Self Improvement To The Rescue!
Lately, I have found myself excessively analyzing myself. I have recently challenged myself to become more introspective and analytical regarding the person I am currently. Yes, I mean my habits, appearance, attitude, and overall outlook on the world around me. During this process, I have detected both positive and negative things about myself. My goal is self-improvement. Today I would like to share a couple tips and tricks as to how I have improved myself overall. The first step, although seemingly miniscule, is to stay properly hydrated.

I suppose I never recognized the importance in being hydrated because it seems like a "no-brainer". However, I proudly challenge everyone to test just how hydrated they truly are. Prior to this, my body was accustomed to consuming a lot of caffeine and sugary beverages. I noticed I always felt as though I was lacking the energy I desired to sufficiently get through my daily tasks. Since I have started drinking more water, I have found that my skin is clearing up and I feel better after cardio sessions in the gym. It was an insanely easy step in the right direction for my health. Furthermore, the next tip I have implemented regarding my mental health is positive self talk.

I have noticed that before I challenged myself to improve my life, I had an awful tendency to think negatively. Again, although this may sound cliche, it genuinely has helped me improve my life in all areas. I have learned through this experience that every situation you come across in life requires positivity. A few things I would encourage others to try is finding the "silver-lining" in each situation they encounter. I would also encourage people to celebrate the small victories in each day. The difficult thing about self-talk, is it requires a person to be disciplined and consistent. Through this process of self-improvement, I have been able to ditch bad habits and create good tendencies. These are the two most useful pieces of advice I have found through my own journey, however, it is important to realize that this journey will look different for everyone.
Jazzy, I really appreciate that you covered Self-Improvement. It is not an easy thing to admit to yourself that you have flaws, but ultimately is the start of improving your lifestyle physically and mentally. I have recently started this journey along with my husband months ago. It was only until recently that he found out that he was pre-diabetic and we have diabetes on both sides of our family. We knew that it was very serious and he cut off the major killers: soda, white rice, pasta, and candy. We learned more from a nutritionist and finally got back to eating healthy with diet and exercise. My personal is keeping hydrated as you said, it is very important. I realized how dehydrated I was before starting this healthy lifestyle change. I would try to donate blood and I wouldn't be able half the time if I wasn't hydrated enough. Good luck on this path and I can't wait to hear more about your progress!
ReplyDeleteI love this so much. I constantly find myself in a cycle of being happy with myself and feeling as if I don't do enough to grow as a person. Everything you mentioned helps so much. I am a very fake it till you make it type of person so self affirmations are very necessary in my life. I think this would be helpful to anyone seeking self improvement and I feel like people tend to not talk about it.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see that metal health has really gained momentum in recent years. Honestly, as someone who continues to struggle with it, thank you. I really love that you're trying to see yourself from a different perspective and figure out how to make yourself a better version of you, and how better to take care of yourself. That is truly an important step in life, and not everyone takes it.
